The possibility of making compact stopband filters using coplanar-coupled EBG resonators in inverted microstrip gap waveguide technology is studied this work. To do this, the filtering characteristics different configurations mushroom-type elements are shown which short-circuit element placed on edge resonator’s patch. behavior structure as well its main advantages such as: low losses, self-packaging, level complexity, flexibility and easy design illustrated paper. evaluate integrating these structures planar antennas feeding networks, a 5-cell filter was designed built at X band. proposed reached maximum rejection −35.4 dB, had centered 9 GHz relative fractional bandwidth below −20 dB 10.6%. new presented flat passband it matched insertion losses that, including connectors, were close to 1.5 most These results enough improve low-complexity future antenna designs with functionalities technology.
